Easyfairs’ sustainability work

As part of Easyfairs and Act for the Future, we are committed to the Net Zero Carbon Events pledge: to halve our greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and reach net-zero emissions by 2050.

Easyfairs is committed to operating our events in an environmentally and socially responsible manner by:

Reduce your carbon footprint

with reusable stands

Our reusable stand solutions are designed to reduce material consumption, waste, and transportation.
Without compromising on function and design.

Up to 150x

lower carbon footprint
compared to single-use stand solutions.

Reusable components

Our stands can be assembled, dismantled, and reused at multiple events. This means less new material is required.

Recyclable materials

We use materials that can be recycled. Materials that can no longer be reused are recycled.

Reduced transport

At many events, stands are stored on-site, completely eliminating transport emissions. When transport is required, multiple stands are consolidated into a single delivery to reduce emissions per stand.

Our key initiatives:

Energy

The facility implements energy-saving measures by using only green electricity and reducing unnecessary energy consumption. Energy use is carefully managed through the control of lighting, heating, and HVAC systems. In addition, the facility is equipped with LED lighting to further conserve energy.

Travel & Accommodation

Easyfairs reduces travel-related emissions by selecting preferred accommodation partners based on sustainability criteria. The venue offers bicycle parking and electric vehicle charging stations nearby. We encourage carpooling to the event and recommend using public transport to further reduce environmental impact.

Freight & Logistics

Easyfairs’ stand packages reduce transport emissions and waste, and we select our suppliers based on sustainability criteria. We incorporate these criteria into our contracts and base our supplier selection on their sustainability efforts regarding transport.

Production & waste

We implement a strict waste management and reduction plan and limit plastic use at our events. Waste generated is carefully sorted, and we use reusable carpet tiles during our events. Furthermore, our Smart Badge technology enables a significant reduction in paper consumption for our exhibitors.

Food & Food Waste

We apply principles of sustainable food sourcing at our dining facilities, reduce food waste, and donate surplus food to charity. We encourage our suppliers to use portion control to minimize waste, offer vegetarian and vegan options, and do not serve red meat in our lunch restaurants.

Social responsibility

We strive to be an inclusive team that embraces diversity and provides equal opportunities for all, while embedding sustainability at the core of our event. Our seminar program focuses on sustainability topics, and we offer a platform for startups to showcase their groundbreaking innovations.

Here are some practical tips on how to make your participation more sustainable.

Choose a reusable stand package from the organizer or design your own stand so that the structure can be reused multiple times, year after year. Work with your stand builder to make your stand as sustainable as possible! Avoid creating a single-use stand intended for just one event.

Create reusable signs (without dates) made from recyclable materials and using eco-friendly ink whenever possible. Use LED lighting and other energy-efficient equipment for your booth, and don’t forget to turn them off at the end of the day. Try to avoid using carpeting, but if you really need it, opt for reusable carpet tiles.

If you use standard carpeting, make sure it is recyclable and that it will be recycled.

Whenever possible, choose public transport or carpool with your colleagues.

Choose a hotel within walking distance and/or adopt eco-friendly practices.

Consolidate your shipments and, ideally, use transport and logistics companies that employ sustainable practices. Prioritize local suppliers to support the local economy and reduce transport. Favor suppliers that demonstrate strong environmental and social credentials.

Bring your own reusable water bottle and use our water stations to help us reduce the use of single-use plastic.

If you serve food at your stand, preferably choose locally produced and plant-based options and avoid using single-use plastics. Prevent food waste and order only the amount of food needed.

Take an active role in the various initiatives and discussions during the event that will support sustainable development within your sector.

Inspire visitors by showcasing the sustainable qualities of your products.
